The Passenger Imaging System developed by TÜBİTAK MAM Materials Institute has started to serve at customs. The system, produced within TÜBİTAK MAM as a result of the R&D Project carried out with the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement of the Ministry of Customs and Trade, is actively used for the detection of smuggling at customs gates. With the Imaging System, metal and non-metal hazardous substances such as drugs, explosives and weapons can be detected on the persons' clothes or hidden under their clothes. One of the most important advantages of the system is that it can detect drugs and explosives as well as various items such as meat, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and tobacco products wrapped around the body that cannot be detected by metal detectors.

%95 YERLİLİK ORANINA SAHİP ÜRÜN

TÜBİTAK MAM tarafından geliştirilen sistem, yolcu görüntüleme uygulamaları arasında %95 yerlilik oranına sahip ilk milli ürün olma özelliğini taşıyor. Mevcut sistemlerin aksine insan sağlığına hiçbir zararı olmayan pasif milimetre dalga teknolojisiyle çalışan sistem, yurtdışı muadillerine göre önemli bir maliyet avantajı sağlıyor.

At the Kapıkule Customs Gate Passenger Hall, which is one of the customs gates where the Passenger Imaging System is in operation, passengers are body searched without the need for physical intervention. Since the system performs body searches remotely with high image resolution, customs controls can be carried out without disrupting passenger flow and without violating personal privacy.
