TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) is successfully implementing the IPA-INNOFOOD Project on "Establishment of Research and Innovation Facilities to Improve Regional Competitiveness in the Food Industry".
A Protocol Signing Ceremony was held at TÜBİTAK MAM with the participation of local partners within the scope of the IPA-INNOFOOD Project, which is the first approved R&D project with the largest budget of the Competitive Sectors Program, carried out within the framework of the European Union and Turkey Financial Cooperation.
TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, Giresun Commodity Exchange Chairman Yaşar İbaş, Gaziantep Commodity Exchange Chairman Mehmet Akıncı and Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman İbrahim Halil Peltek signed the project protocol.
The IPA-INNOFOOD Project aims to support SMEs serving in the food and beverage sector to improve product quality and safety, develop R&D-based product/production technology, and increase their competitiveness in the international and national market. In this direction, "Anatolian Technology Platform for Food Innovations", "Food Innovation Center" and "Regional Laboratories and Systems" will be established in Kocaeli, Giresun, Şanlıurfa and Gaziantep provinces.
