The workshop of the project "Feasibility Study for the Development of the Turkish Seas Current and Pollutant Dispersion Model System", which started on 11.09.2015 with the support of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, General Directorate of Marine and Inland Waters Regulation, was successfully held on October 6, 2015 at TÜBİTAK MAM Conference Hall.
After the opening speeches made by Mr. Nihat ASAN, Head of Marine Environment and Tourism Department, General Directorate of Marine and Inland Water Regulation, Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haldun KARAN, Deputy Director of TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Clean Production Institute, more than 50 people from academicians and stakeholder institutions participated in the workshop.
In the workshop, which aimed to reveal the national capacity for the development of the Turkish Seas Current and Pollutant Dispersion Model System, to develop a national monitoring program, to develop strategies and action plans for the future by contributing to oceanographic-based research, creative idea generation methods and techniques were used and active participation of all participants was ensured from the beginning to the end.
