DTİ IMPLANT SİSTEMLERİ SAN. TİC. A.Ş. and TÜBİTAK MAM GENE ENGINEERING and BIOTECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE jointly developed Modified SLA - Active surface dental implants, which will be produced in one of Europe's largest dental implant factories planned to be built in TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent (MARTEK) Technology Free Zone, and the cooperation protocol was signed at TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent.
Established with the outputs obtained as a result of the TÜBİTAK-TEYDEB project, of which Prof. Dr. Talat BUGUR is the project manager, DTİ Implant Sistemleri San. Tic. A.Ş. established its dental implant (artificial tooth root) factory in Çekmeköy, Istanbul in 2012 with the support of TÜBİTAK and the Council of Europe Development Bank. The implant systems developed by Turkish scientists, Turkish doctors and Turkish engineers with one hundred percent Turkish capital are high value-added products that reduce the need for imports through domestic production and provide a significant foreign currency inflow to Turkey through exports abroad.

DTİ Implant Systems aims to produce 500,000 implants per year in its second factory to be built in TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent, a technology development and free zone, which is the only one of its kind in Turkey, and to export a significant portion of it as high value-added products and to provide Turkey with a very important foreign currency inflow. In this new factory, DTİ will focus on the R&D and innovation activities it has been carrying out in scientific partnership with 11 universities and TÜBİTAK, and will also create a Gene Engineering and Biotechnology Department, which is one of the few implant factories in the world.

One of the goals of DTI is to realize the production of animal and human bone graft, which is not yet produced in Turkey, in its second factory.
The signing ceremony of the cooperation protocol for the launch of the modified SLA Active surface in dental implants developed by DTİ Implant Systems and the establishment of one of the largest implant factories in Europe was held on Friday, May 29 at 10.00 am at TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus MARTEK (TÜBİTAK Marmara Teknokent).
