With the "Development of Photovoltaic Based Solar Power Plant Technologies (MİLGES) Project" carried out by the Energy Institute of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center, the necessary infrastructure has been created for Turkey to become a country that produces photovoltaic (PV) based solar power plant equipment needs with its own technology and exports it to the world. In line with the infrastructure created, a Solar Power Plant (SPP) with a capacity of 6 MW was successfully installed in Urfa Ceylanpınar TİGEM Enterprises as a pilot application.

Proje ile GES için gerekli olan Fotovoltaik Hücre Geliştirilmesi ve Üretimi, Fotovoltaik Modül Üretimi, Evirici Geliştirilmesi ve Üretimi, Güneş Enerji Santrali Kurulumu %80’e varan yerlilik oranı ile gerçekleştirildi.

This installed capacity in solar power plants is projected to overtake wind power by 2025, hydroelectricity by 2030 and coal by 2040. In line with the projection, MİLGES will ensure that an annual investment of 860 million USD will remain in the country. Assuming an investment cost of 1$/W, an average installation of 0.86 GW per year is planned.(*)
