Within the scope of the "Project for Determination of Bathing Water Profiles in Turkish Coasts" initiated on October 18, 2012 with the contract signed between the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and TUBITAK Marmara Research Center, a project stakeholder analysis workshop was organized on September 19, 2013 in Ankara with the participation of 22 participants from 8 different institutions in order to define the responsibilities of national and local authorities in bathing water quality management and to develop recommendations for implementation.
Within the scope of the stakeholder analysis, it was aimed to obtain more accurate information by collecting the views of stakeholders through many channels, to increase the ownership of the project in the implementation and monitoring process through participatory methods, and to create a consensus around the objectives of the study. At the end of the workshop, the key stakeholders of the project were identified and the expectations of each of them from the project, the possible benefits they can provide from the project, the relations between each other, the weaknesses and strengths of the stakeholders were determined. In the analysis, stakeholders' knowledge, interest, approach (positive/negative) and possible cooperation with other stakeholders were identified.
The study was completed by the participants by scoring the stakeholders according to their impact on the work within the scope of the management of bathing water areas.
