Coordination Meeting of Value Added Product Development Project from Hemp

At the coordination meeting hosted by BUTEKOM, the integration of high value-added products to be obtained from the hemp plant into the industry and the sustainability analysis undertaken by TÜBİTAK MAM were discussed. While the studies carried out with the strategic cooperation of the project partners were meticulously evaluated in line with performance indicators, technical reports and environmental impact targets, the roadmap of scientific infrastructure and industrial applications that will contribute to Turkey's green transformation goals was clarified.

Within the scope of the project titled “Development of Value-Added Products and Processes for Different Sectors from Hemp Plant” supported under SAYEM 1833 - Green Transformation in Industry Program, a coordination meeting was held at BUTEKOM to plan the activities for the period.

During the meeting, progress in the work packages carried out within the scope of the project was discussed; technical and financial reporting requirements, compliance of the activities carried out with the targeted outputs, performance indicators and project milestones were comprehensively evaluated. Within the scope of the project, sustainability studies will be carried out by TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) for all sub-projects. Within the framework of these studies, it is aimed to analyze the performance indicators and milestones of the project in detail and to evaluate the project outputs from a sustainability perspective. Dr. Tuba Budak, Deputy Head of Climate and Life Sciences, Resource Efficiency and Clean Energy Research Group Leader of TÜBİTAK MAM, and project researchers attended the coordination meeting. At the meeting, evaluations were made to strengthen cooperation between project partners and to ensure that project activities proceed in line with the planned schedule.

With its sustainability studies and scientific infrastructure, TÜBİTAK MAM aims to contribute to the transformation of project outputs into environmentally sustainable and high value-added technologies applicable to industry.
