TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute provided training on good practices in the chemical sector for organized industrial zones (OIZ) at the "Cleaner Production and Industrial Symbiosis Workshop" organized by Ankara Development Agency on 19-21 November 2014.
TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute, METU Environmental Engineering Department, Boğaziçi University Sustainable Development and Cleaner Production Center, Technology Development Foundation of Turkey, Kalundborg Symbiosis Center and manufacturers from organized industrial zones participated in a 3-day multi-stakeholder training for different OIZs in Ankara.
Throughout the event, experts provided information on minimizing the amount of materials, water and energy used in enterprises with low investment and easily applicable methods, as well as reducing waste generation and converting the wastes generated into economic gains on the basis of metal, chemical and food sectors in general, and gave successful examples from the world and Turkey in the fields of cleaner production and industrial symbiosis.
In the programs hosted by Başkent on November 19, İvedik and OSTİM on November 20 and ASO 1st organized industrial zones on November 21, Tuba BUDAK, a researcher at TÜBİTAK MAM ÇTÜE, talked about good practice examples for the chemical sector in Turkey and in the world, the studies carried out and the successes they have achieved.
