Technology
"Warm Mix Asphalt Additive Production Technology" developed by TÜBİTAK MAM is an inorganic asphalt additive production technology that allows all bituminous mixtures to be produced at 15-35oC lower temperature without compromising asphalt quality.
The technology enabling the production of warm mix asphalt (WMA) will enable more efficient use of national resources and transform existing technologies into clean and sustainable ones.
With the production of domestic warm mix additives, both the dissemination of warm mixtures will be ensured and foreign dependency in this field will be prevented.
Application Areas
In addition to being used in all areas where existing bituminous mixture applications are used, it can also be used in cold and rainy periods.
Advantages
- Ilık karışım asfalt üretiminde ortalama olarak %30 oranında daha az yakıt ve elektrik enerjisi kullanılır.
- Operating the plant at lower temperatures extends the useful life of the equipment.
- The low temperature reduces the aging of the bituminous binder, resulting in longer pavement lifetime and lower maintenance and repair costs.
- The use of reclaimed asphalt material (RAP) is increasing significantly.
- With the use of IKA, the construction season will be extended, especially in cold and rainy climates, pavements will be built faster, infrastructure will be protected from water impact, and highway construction will be carried out faster and on time.
- IKA applications help to reduce emissions and protect workers' health in the production unit and in the paving area.
Transfer Model
The technology in question will be transferred in accordance with the procedure stipulated in the Regulation on the Management of TÜBİTAK Movables and Immovables, for ten years by simple licensing method, open to all bidders who meet the conditions stipulated by our Institution, and for a license fee stipulated depending on the number of sales.
