At the TÜBİTAK Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Call Contract Signing Ceremony held with the participation of Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal signed contracts with the parties of 17 projects supported under the 1711 Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem 2023 Call. TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center was also entitled to receive support from this important call with 2 projects. TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. Burcu Özsoy signed the contracts.

A total of 32 consortia applied to the call, which attracted great interest. As a result of the evaluations of TEDYEB Information Technologies Group Executive Board, expert referees and sector representatives, 17 projects were accepted. Eight of these projects will be realized in the fields of Smart Production Systems, 3 in Smart Agriculture Food and Livestock, 4 in Climate Change and Sustainability, and 2 in Smart Education Technologies.

One of the projects in the field of climate change and sustainability within the scope of the call was the Establishment of a Prototype for the Recovery of Concentrated Wastewater from Reverse Osmosis Recovery of Wastewater from Textile Industry with Artificial Intelligence Supported Control Algorithm. In the project carried out by ERAK, in partnership with ULUÇEV and TÜBİTAK MAM, an innovative system focusing on concentrated wastewater is planned. The variable concentrated wastewater, which will be monitored instantaneously through sensors, will be adapted to the dyeing process and recovered with the ANN algorithm control support system. The project includes laboratory studies, pilot system development and field application phases.

In addition, the project "Reducing Water and Chemical Consumption by Recovering Process Wastewater with Automation Supported Artificial Intelligence Application in Textile Dyeing Plant" aims to integrate artificial intelligence applications into textile production processes. Within the scope of the project, which is carried out by Poyraz Boya and partnered by Blueit and TÜBİTAK MAM, wastewater characteristics resulting from different dyeing recipes will be instantly detected, processed with artificial intelligence and automatically directed without the need for operator intervention. With this approach, it is aimed to achieve efficiency in water, energy and chemical consumption and reduce environmental impacts. TÜBİTAK MAM will support the project with its experience in the textile industry and contribute to the writing of algorithms for water recovery.

CALL FOR AN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ECOSYSTEM

The Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Call aims to support joint consortium projects of companies, domestic technology supplier SMEs and research centers that need artificial intelligence solutions by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. In this context, with the 2nd Call in 2023, 17 consortium projects in 5 thematic areas will be supported with a budget of over 55 million TL. In addition to playing an active role in the establishment of consortia, the Artificial Intelligence Institute will support the development of products and solutions, and ensure the rapid transfer of the knowledge gained to the ecosystem.
