A Critical Threshold is Crossed in Turkey's Defense and Communication Technologies

Strategic projects carried out by TÜBİTAK and the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) in cooperation with the leading stakeholders of the sector have reached critical stages that will end Turkey's foreign dependence in defence, CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Radiological, Nuclear) and new generation communication technologies. The agreements were signed at a ceremony held at the SSB.

The agreements, to which TÜBİTAK BİLGEM, TÜBİTAK MAM and TÜBİTAK UZAY are parties, were signed by SSB President Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün and TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Orhan Aydın.

The signed agreements are as follows:

  1. Development of Active System Remote Chemical Agent Detection Technology (NEHIR) Project
  2. Development of Communication Technologies in Millimeter/Terahertz Band (MITHAT) Project
  3. Aviation Engine Materials Development Program Phase-3 (DORUK) Project
  4. Development of Mems Based Biological Agent Detection, Diagnosis and Sampling System (BAHAR) Project
  5. Image Positioning Methods Development (IKON) Project
