Turkey's Sixth National Communication on Climate Change is being prepared within the scope of the "Preparation of National Communications on Climate Change" project carried out by our Center's Environment and Cleaner Production Institute. The "Scoping Workshop" for the 6th National Communication to be submitted under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change with the project supported by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization was held on June 24-26, 2014 at Akar International Hotel in Ankara. Prof. Dr. Haldun KARAN, Deputy Director of TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute, and Project Coordinator Dr. Bilgin HİLMİOĞLU. Approximately 160 people from various public and non-governmental organizations attended the workshop where opening speeches were made by Dr. Bilgin HİLMİOĞLU.

The topics to be included in the National Communication include National Conditions, Greenhouse Gas Emission and Sinks Inventory, Policy and Measures, Climate Change Impacts, Vulnerability and Adaptation Measures, Finance and Technology, Research and Systematic Monitoring, Education, Training and Public Awareness. During the workshop, the subheadings, content and scope of these chapters to be included in the 6th National Communication on Climate Change, as well as the method to be followed in the preparation of the chapters were determined.
