TÜBİTAK MAM Within the scope of the National Medicine developed by the Chemical Technology Institute (KTE), Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank made a speech at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

Minister Çavuşoğlu reported that the drug derived from the root of the plant 'Ruscus Aculeatus', or enir or rabbit apple as it is called in Anatolia, for effective use in venous circulation disorders, has reached the licensing stage.

In his speech, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank said: "By utilizing our treasure of more than 3,750 endemic plants, we are developing innovative medicines with scientific methods in line with the needs of the Ministry of Health. In this way, we pave the way for the production of herbal medicines with high added value. In the next phase, we will be able to export both the active ingredients and the finished medicines. This plant is sold abroad for 4.5 Euros per kilogram. The food supplement you see here is on sale in Turkey for 20 Euros. Hopefully, we will develop and sell these drugs in the herbal medicine category."
