MATERIAL
Sealing Glass
About
Sealing glasses play a critical role in ensuring reliability in electronics and energy technologies. Especially preferred in applications where a hermetic and electrically insulating seal is required, these materials not only provide sealing, but also perform additional functions such as electrical isolation, chemical and mechanical resistance. Thanks to their high chemical stability, their ability to form compatible bonds with different metals and the ability to adjust their properties according to needs, they have a wide range of applications in many industries. Incandescent lamps, glass-to-metal transition junctions, semiconductor housings, biomedical implants, lithium-ion batteries, fiber-optic connections and solid oxide fuel cells are just a few of these areas. Sealing glasses, which have critical importance in the fields of defense, energy and electronics, are also considered among the strategic technologies in our country. TÜBİTAK MAM contributes to the strategic goals of our country by developing innovative products and prototypes in the field of sealing glasses with its strong research infrastructure and expert staff.
