The meeting was attended by Sebahattin Dökmeci, Deputy Director General for Environmental Management, Betül Aydın, Head of Air Management Department, Nuray Hüsmen, Branch Manager and relevant branch staff from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, Dr. Selma Ayaz, Institute Manager, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesimi Özkurt, Project Manager, Deniz Sarı, Assistant Project Manager and other project staff from TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center Environment and Cleaner Production Institute. The meeting was attended by 122 representatives from 41 provincial and district municipalities (Afyonkarahisar, Ağrı, Aksaray, Amasya, Aydın, Batman, Bingöl, Çanakkale, Çorum, Denizli, Düzce, Edirne, Erzincan, Giresun, Hatay, Isparta, Karabük, Karaman, Kars, Kastamonu, Kırıkkale, Kırklareli, Kırşehir, Kütahya, Mardin, Muğla, Nevşehir, Niğde, Ordu, Osmaniye, Rize, Siirt, Şanlıurfa, Şırnak, Tekirdağ, Tokat, Uşak, Van, Yalova, Yozgat and Zonguldak), Provincial Directorates of Environment and Urbanization and related institutions and organizations. 'Establishment of Inventory Infrastructure for Source-Based Noise Modeling in Turkey, (GÜRMOD) Project' started with the protocol signed between the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization and TÜBİTAK MAM on 26 July 2017 and will end on 4 December 2017. During this period, an inventory infrastructure for source-based noise modeling will be prepared for the residential areas within the scope. In their opening speeches, Dr. Selma Ayaz, Director of TÜBİTAK MAM Environment and Cleaner Production Institute, and Sebahattin Dökmeci, Deputy Director General of Environmental Management of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, stated the importance of the cooperation of municipalities and other relevant institutions and organizations in the provinces covered by the project for the success of the project. Nuray Hüsmen, Deputy Director of Environmental Noise and Vibration Management Branch of Air Management Department of General Directorate of Environmental Management, made a presentation on the studies on noise legislation in our country. Project Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nesimi Özkurt made a presentation to the participants on the purpose, importance, work plan, project outputs and noise mapping of the project.
