EÜAŞ, which realizes a significant portion of our country's electricity generation with its thermal and hydroelectric power plants, carries out a long-term cooperation with MAM Energy Institute on the rehabilitation and R&D needs of its existing power plants. Within the scope of this cooperation, a delegation consisting of EÜAŞ General Manager Advisors, Department Heads, Branch Managers and technical staff visited TÜBİTAK MAM to plan future activities. The delegation was welcomed by Prof. Dr. İbrahim Kılıçaslan, President of TÜBİTAK MAM, and within the scope of the day-long visit, they examined the infrastructure of the Energy Institute on site and received information from the experts. In addition to the capabilities in thermal and HEPP renewal, the delegation was also informed about the Institute's efforts to increase the efficiency of Turkish coals and its achievements in obtaining liquid fuel from coal.
The only infrastructure in our country for the production of blades and other parts of turbines, which are the most critical equipment of thermal power plants for electricity generation, is located within the TÜBİTAK MAM Institute of Materials. During the visit, the domestic turbine blades and other parts produced at the High Temperature Center of Excellence of the Institute of Materials were also examined on site and opinions were exchanged on the issue of bringing them into our economy.
