The project "Marine Dredging Practices and Environmental Management of Dredging Material (DİPTAR)" supported by KAMAG 1007 Program started on 01 October 2013. The Ministry of Environment and Urbanization is the client organization and the partners of the project are TÜBİTAK MAM ÇTÜE, METU Institute of Marine Sciences and Istanbul University Institute of Marine Sciences and Management. The project aims to develop an approach to ensure the management of seabed dredging and disposal activities carried out in our country in line with the principles of sustainable use without harming the ecosystem and human health, taking into account international legislation and practices. This approach, which will be supported by scientific methods, will be tested in marine environments with different characteristics and it is aimed to complete the deficiencies of the "draft regulation" prepared by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization (MoEU).
