IBF-International Business Forum, which was established with the aim of establishing a global business network among Muslim businessmen, was held for the 20th time this year at WoW Hotel on November 9-12, 2016, simultaneously with the 16th MÜSİAD EXPO.

Governed by an executive board (BOG) consisting of the presidents of businessmen's associations from 22 countries, the IBF is an international business platform that brings people together through an annual congress and accompanying commercial activities.

TÜBİTAK Vice President Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çelik made a presentation titled "TÜBİTAK Technology Transfer Offices Support and Commercialization" in the session titled "Commercialization of Technology and Market Success". Prof. Çelik stated that Technology Transfer Offices (TTO) were established in order to transfer the technologies in universities to the field, and explained that TÜBİTAK was assigned to this issue in our country and TTOs started to be supported with the call opened in 2012. Noting that there are five interrelated modules in the TTO Model developed by TÜBİTAK, Prof. Çelik said, "Input is created by providing research funds to the university, then joint projects with industry, transfer of patent licenses and transfer of knowledge to business through entrepreneurship. Technology Transfer Offices play an active role in funding research and transferring research outputs. While TTOs abroad are largely focused on patent licensing activities, a wider process has been included in the scope of support considering the needs of our country."

Stating that it is planned to increase the communication between TTOs and to develop collaborations with successful offices abroad, Prof. Çelik said, "In these offices, commercialization activities will continue to be supported, especially in priority sectors, in order to develop technological products with high added value and to create brands. Prototype development processes and the creation of technological products will continue to be supported in the energy, health, aviation, space, automotive, rail systems, informatics and defense sectors determined in Turkey's policies in the field of science. Furthermore, with the Law No. 6550 on Supporting Research Infrastructures, it is planned to create a Roadmap for Research Infrastructures in Turkey, which will ensure their establishment in priority areas and in specific locations. The development of technological products, especially medium-high and high-tech products, will be enabled."
