“R&D Projects Signature Ceremony” for the projects initiated in 2020 was held by the Presidency of Defense Industries.
During the ceremony honored by the presence of the Defense Industries President Prof. İsmail DEMİR, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Hasan MANDAL and TÜBİTAK MAM Acting President Dr. Osman OKUR; the parties put their signatures on the Projects “Phase-1 of Aircraft Motor Materials Development Program (CEVHER)” and “Thin and Lightweight Ballistic Resistant Glass System (KEHRİBAR)” intended to eliminate foreign dependency, to materialize national original solutions and to enhance R&D and technology capabilities.
The Project “Phase-1 of Aircraft Motor Materials Development Program (CEVHER)” to be conducted with the cooperation of TÜBİTAK MAM, TUSAŞ Motor Company and META Nickel Cobalt Mining Company will make it possible to develop aviation class gas turbine motor materials currently supplied from foreign countries, and to develop an encapsulation system for the production of turbine disks by powder metallurgy.
The Project “Thin and Lightweight Ballistic Resistant Glass System (KEHRİBAR)” aims to develop a thin and lightweight glass system reinforced with high ballistic resistance that is suitable for use in land -mainly armored vehicles in defense industries-, sea and air platforms, that does not pose any risk for lives of personnel and safety of equipment and that does not impact the speed, mobility and visibility angle of vehicles.
