Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Oruç Baba İnan visited TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on August 18, 2023.
The event held at TÜBİTAK MAM Conference Hall was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mr. Oruç Baba İnan, President of TÜBİTAK Prof. Hasan Mandal, Vice President of TÜBİTAK Dr. İsmail Doğan, President of TÜBİTAK MAM Prof. Burcu Özsoy, and a delegation from TORKU. Experts and researchers from TÜBİTAK MAM also took part in the program.
Chief Expert Yusuf Kılıç from TÜBİTAK MAM Strategy and Business Development Directorate made a presentation on the infrastructures, activities, products, ongoing international projects of TÜBİTAK MAM and potential areas of cooperation. The presentation introduced TÜBİTAK MAM's rich infrastructure, dynamic activities, and pioneering products. Kılıç provided the participants with comprehensive information about TÜBİTAK MAM's scientific and technological capabilities, laboratory infrastructure, and research opportunities. Giving information about TÜBİTAK MAM's product portfolio, he emphasized its role in the development of innovative products in the industry. He presented the successful international projects carried out by TÜBİTAK MAM and potential areas of collaboration in the future.
Then, Dr. İncinur Hasbay, the Leader of the Food Innovation Technologies Research Group within the Vice Presidency of Life Sciences at TÜBİTAK MAM, delivered a presentation providing comprehensive information about significant technology and innovation efforts across various stages of the food sector's value chain. As part of the presentation, a promotional video of TÜGİP, providing informative details about technology and innovation services with the Turkish Food Innovation Platform, was shown. The focus points of the presentation included topics such as food processing steps, integration of innovative technologies into food products, ensuring food safety from field to fork, development of new food products and production methods, research of functional foods and formulations. Details about TÜBİTAK MAM's activities and projects in the field of food were shared. In addition, collaboration opportunities and potential partnership topics were also discussed as part of the presentation.
Following the presentation, TÜBİTAK MAM Life Sciences Vice Presidency Industrial Biotechnology Research Group Leader Assoc. Prof. Selma Onarıcı shared in detail the research areas and cooperation opportunities in the fields of plant and animal technology. Assoc. Prof. Onarıcı extended the potential for collaboration in this field by emphasizing TÜBİTAK MAM's strong expertise and capacity in plant and animal biotechnology, as well as its desire to collaborate.
After the meeting, the participants visited Turkish Food Innovation Platform Food Innovation Center. During this special tour, the participants were provided with a comprehensive experience by explaining the state-of-the-art studies conducted in food production lines.
