TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) participated in ENTECH - Sustainability and Zero Waste Fair & Congress on 23-26 November, Turkchem Eurasia 2022 on 24-27 November and the 9th OIC Halal Expo & World Halal Summit on 24-28 November 2022.
As part of the ENTECH fair starting on November 23, the "Science and Technology Based Green Growth" Panel was held. The moderator of the panel was TÜBİTAK President Prof. Hasan Mandal.
The Panel was attended by Secretary General of Turkish Steel Producers Association (TÇÜD) Dr. Veysel Yayan, CEO of Turkish Cement Industrialists' Association (TÜRKÇİMENTO) Volkan Bozay, Board Member of Turkish Chemical Industrialists' Association (TKSD), Technical Committee Member of the European Chemical Industries Council (CEFIC) Dr. Derya Erçıkan, Director of Boğaziçi University Sustainable Development and Cleaner Production Center Prof. Nilgün Cılız and TÜBİTAK Science, Technology and Innovation Policies Department Head Hande Alpaslan.
TÜBİTAK President Prof. Hasan Mandal also made a presentation on Green Transformation.
During the fair attracting a great interest from visitors, TÜBİTAK MAM exhibited Hybrid Cavitation Reactor, Pectin produced from apple peels, pectin produced from sugar beet pomace, galactooligosaccharide (GOS) produced from whey. Information was shared about the studies on sea litter and coastal litter with the concept of zero waste.
TÜBİTAK MAM Researchers and Representatives of the Leading Brands of the Sector made presentations on Zero Waste Concept in Solid Waste Management, "LOUISE Low-Cost CO2 Capture By Chemical Looping Combustion of Waste-Derived Fuels" Project, "Evaluation of Beach Litter and Microplastic Pollution in Turkiye's Coastal Areas", Waste Management with Zero Waste Approach, Water Safety Early Warning System and Dissolved Oxygen and SAIS Cabinet.
The International Chemical Industry Fair Turkchem Eurasia 2022 and HALAL EXPO fair, which started simultaneously at the Istanbul Expo Center, also got a great interest from the sector representatives.
TÜBİTAK MAM participated in the “9th International Special, Specific Chemicals, General Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Laboratory, Measuring Instruments, Process and Automation Industry, Packaging, Recycling and Environmental Technologies Fair - TURKCHEM" with its Hydroxychloroquine Sulphate Active Agent, HES Anti-Corrosion Coating, Photopolymer 3D and High Performance Polymer Resin Systems. Also, the studies of Marmara Research Center on chemistry sector were explained to the participants. Ideas were exchanged with companies about possible collaborations and projects.
We also took part in the 9th OIC Halal Expo & World Halal Summit with our domestic products and test materials that represent Turkiye in the field of food. At the fair, where many companies from Asia, Europe and Africa participated, great attention was paid to our halal products due to processing and hygiene standards.
At the World Halal Summit held this year with the motto "Sustainable Trade: Explore the Development of Global Halal Industry in All Aspects", TÜBİTAK MAM exhibited and gave information about Reference Materials and Proficiency Test Materials for Halal Certification, Precise Pig DNA Detection Technology, Plant Specific Sugar Beet and Sugar Cane Gene Screening Technology, Offal and Foreign Tissue Detection Kit in Cattle Products, Gelatin Substitute Modified Starch, Apple Pectin, Immune System Supportive and Antiviral-Antibacterial Products, Throat Spray with Propolis, Protective Lozenge/Chewable Tablet Against SARS-COV-2 Virus, Resistant Starch, Plant Extracts, Anti-Diabetic Food Supplements, Instant Tea, Natural Antioxidants from Rosemary and Prebiotic Food Supplement Galactooligosaccharide (GOS).
