We commemorated Veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Chief Commander of our Independence War and the founder of our Republic, with love, respect and longing with a ceremony in our Center on the 82nd anniversary of his passing away.
When the time hit 09.05, the flags were lowered to half-mast. After a moment of silence in the spiritual presence of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkish National Anthem was sung.
TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center Acting President Dr. Osman OKUR made a speech marking the meaning and importance of the day stating “We commemorate with gratitude Veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Chief Commander of our Independence War and the founder of our Republic, on the 82nd anniversary of his passing away. Besides him, may Allah the Almighty have mercy upon all our martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for our State and Homeland since the Independence War.”
