The President of Marmara Municipalities Union and the Metropolitan Kocaeli Mayor Assoc. Prof. Tahir BÜYÜKAKIN met with the President of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center Prof. İbrahim KILIÇASLAN for the project on “Purchase-guaranteed Encouragement for the Production of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants”. The cooperation to be established between the two institutions making use of their “qualified human resources” and “qualified infrastructures” will contribute to the development and production of value-added industrial products in the province of Kocaeli.
THE MAYOR VISITS FACILITIES AND GETS BRIEFING ON INSTITUTES
The Mayor BÜYÜKAKIN visited the Pilot Plant of the Food Institute and the Flexible Pilot Plant of the Institute of Chemical Technology in TÜBİTAK MAM and stated that they aim to support regional development by ensuring product development and efficient use of resources with this cooperation. During the visit that was also attended by the Secretary General of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Dr. Hasan AYDINLIK, the Municipality delegation expressed that the project on “Encouragement for the Production of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants” will be strengthened with the capabilities of TÜBİTAK MAM’s relevant institutes.
INCENTIVE WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR LANDS COVERING AT LEAST 10 DECARES and AT MOST 15 DECARES
The project on “Encouragement for the Production of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants” will be initiated by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in the district of Kandıra, which was selected as the pilot area. Under the project aiming to increase the income levels of villagers and farmers, the incentive will be available for lands covering at least 10 decares and at most 15 decares. The total size of lands to get incentive upon application will be 1200 decares.
