Tuzla Mayor Dr. Şadi YAZICI visited TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on 13 October 2020 and met with the officials of Marmara Technopolis and MAM to exchange views on cooperation.
During the meeting among Tuzla Mayor Dr. Şadi YAZICI, Marmara Technopolis General Director Mr. Mehmet Ali OKUR, TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center Acting President Dr. Osman OKUR, Polar Research Institute Acting Director Assoc. Prof. Burcu ÖZSOY and personnel from Polar Research Institute, the parties conducted negotiations on possible cooperation fields and development of new projects. Tuzla Mayor Dr. Şadi YAZICI expressed his wishes of success for the newly founded Polar Research Institute.
Polar research studies have been conducted under the auspices of the Turkish State Presidency since 2017, and as a public awareness raising program on these studies, the first Polar Science House in Turkey was opened in Tuzla Şelale (Waterfall) Park by Tuzla Municipality in 2017. The visiting delegation exchanged views with TÜBİTAK MAM and Polar Research Institute on new fields of cooperation.
