TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. İbrahim KILIÇASLAN, the Director of Environment and Cleaner Production Institute Dr. Selma AYAZ and an accompanying delegation visited the Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Mr. Nadir ALPASLAN in his office on 31 January 2020.
Mr. ALPASLAN was briefed on the technical capabilities of R/V TÜBİTAK MARMARA Research Vessel; and research possibilities were discussed. Considering the multi-purpose usage potential of the oceanographic ship R/V TÜBİTAK MARMARA, the capabilities and possibilities of the vessel were explained in line with the needs of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on underwater archaeology.
The parties especially discussed such matters as conducting marine works in no-dive zones which bear a tourism potential and require underwater archaeological studies, and making an inventory of underwater wrecks.
