Rector of Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy Admiral Boyan Kirilov Mednikarov, Director of the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute Prof. Christo Pimpirev and an accompanying delegation visited TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) on November 5, 2021.
The Bulgarian delegation was welcomed by TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Ahmet YOZGATLIGİL and Vice President Prof. Burcu ÖZSOY; and the delegations had a luncheon meeting with the participation of TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Ahmet YOZGATLIGİL, Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy Rector Admiral Boyan Kirilov Mednikarov, TÜBİTK MAM Vice President Prof. Burcu ÖZSOY, Bulgarian Antarctic Institute Director Prof. Christo Pimpirev, TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute Deputy Director Assoc. Prof. Hasan Hakan YAVAŞOĞLU, Oleg Vasilev from Bulgarian Antarctic Institute, research specialists from TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute Cpt. Barbaros Büyüksağnak, Cpt. Özgün OKTAR and İTÜ Faculty Member Dr. Mahmut Oğuz SELBESOĞLU. Vice President Prof. Burcu Özsoy informed the Bulgarian delegation about the capabilities and studies of TÜBİTAK MAM Polar Research Institute. Then, at the meeting, the Bulgarian delegation and the officials of the Naval Forces Command made presentations. The parties exchanged views on potential areas of cooperation. The visit ended with presentation of gifts by the parties.
