The Project for the "Development of Oxygen Self-Rescuers" aims to develop ergonomic, portable and modern self-rescuers to provide users with sufficient breathing air during emergency escape in cases where toxic gases are present in the ambient air and/or the amount of oxygen is not sufficient.

Collaborating with the industry leader MFA Mask for domestic and national production of these products forms the basis of this project to meet Turkey's need in this field.

TÜBİTAK MAM working on air freshening and life support systems since 2012 feels duty bound to carry out R&D studies for the production of emergency escape masks and oxygen self-rescuers with domestic resources after the Soma coal mine disaster in Turkey.

R&D studies for the production of oxygen-generating chemicals, which have been initiated with this motivation, have yielded success. Now, it is time to initiate studies for developing oxygen self-rescuers with a sector-leading company producing completely national products, MFA.
