Joint War College of the National Defense University under the Ministry of National Defense visited TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus on 20 December 2022.
The meeting held within the scope of the visit was attended by National Defense University Joint War College Director Rear Admiral Selçuk Akarı and his accompanying delegation, TÜBİTAK Vice President and TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil, senior executives and researchers from TÜBİTAK MAM and TÜBİTAK BİLGEM.
Prof. Yozgatlıgil, in his opening speech, said "Our institution develops critical technologies that contribute to the development of our country materially and spiritually, activating the potential and enhancing the R&D and technology competence of the country. It carries out studies in areas such as alternative food sources, medical biotechnology, CBRN defense technologies, climate change and water resource management and development of critical materials needed by Turkiye."
TÜBİTAK MAM Energy Technologies Vice President Dr. Osman Okur and TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Business Development Officer Ömer Faruk Aydın made informative presentations about their work areas, products and competencies.
After the opening speeches and presentations, National Defense University Joint War College Director Rear Admiral Selçuk Akarı and TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil presented gifts to each other.
The delegation paid visits to National Biological Chemical Test Center (BKTM), High Temperature Materials Research, Development and Repair Center of Excellence, Underwater Acoustics Laboratory (SAL), Energetic Materials Laboratory, Cartridge Production Plant and Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Laboratory under TÜBİTAK MAM and High Power Laser System, Antenna Test & Research Center (ATAM) and Mine and Handmade Explosives Precaution and Test Research Laboratory (MEKTAM) under TÜBİTAK BİLGEM.
Then, the delegation visited the Hannibal Monument in TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus and got a briefing on Hannibal's life.
