TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) held a "Clean Campus Event" at the Gebze Campus of TÜBİTAK on August 5, 2021 to raise environmental awareness and make the Campus more livable and healthier.
The event was attended by TÜBİTAK MAM President Dr. Osman OKUR, Vice President Prof. Burcu ÖZSOY, Advisor Mehmet Şakir KESKİN and MAM personnel. The zones with intense pollution in the campus were predetermined by MAM Security and Civil Defense Directorate and the event focused on five different zones. Volunteering MAM personnel separated into five groups and meticulously cleaned the Gebze Campus of TÜBİTAK with the idea of "Clean People, Clean Environment".
Plastic, nylon, glass bottles, glass shards and other wastes in the campus were collected and piled in predetermined areas. The collected wastes were taken by means of a tractor and separated.
