Award to TÜBİTAK at Zero Waste Summit as a Model for the World

The "3rd Zero Waste Summit and Award Ceremony" was held on 23 December at Istanbul Haliç Congress Center with the presence of the First Lady Emine Erdoğan. The Zero Waste Summit, which is a model for the world, was held this year with the theme of “Climate and Youth”.

The Summit, held as part of the "Zero Waste" Project initiated by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change in 2017, was attended by the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Dönmez, the Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer, the Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Hasan MANDAL, TÜBİTAK MAM Climate Change and Sustainability Vice President Prof. Burcu Özsoy and researchers from TÜBİTAK MAM.

The Zero Waste Summit, which is a model for the world, was held this year with the theme of “Climate and Youth”. A total of 48 awards were presented in 12 categories at the award ceremony. TÜBİTAK President Prof. Hasan Mandal got the "Science, Culture and Art Award" given to TÜBİTAK for the projects supported and solutions developed in line with the goal of "Year 2053: A World Without Waste" and the studies carried out on the basis of Science and Technology for the fight against climate change and for a sustainable future.
