Using the Know-How obtained within the scope of DİNÇ Project carried out by the Defense Industry Presidency (SSB), super-alloy materials were alloyed and casted in ingots in the VIM (vacuum induction melting) system of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center. The ingots were then powdered by the VIGA (vacuum induction gas atomization) system in Sentes-BİR.
The nickel super-alloy powders produced are expected to reduce Türkiye's foreign dependency, especially by allowing additive manufacturing of aviation parts and turbine motor parts.
Additive manufacturing method, one of the innovations that make up Industry 4.0, allows rapid and more affordable production of complex-form, low-number and customized products unlike traditional production methods such as casting and machining. Thanks to these advantages, the use of additive manufacturing methods has become rapidly widespread especially in medical, aviation and space industries.
In the studies partnered by TÜBİTAK MAM and Sentes-BİR, it is aimed to develop "MCrAlY" thermal spray powders used for high temperature protection of gas turbine engines, as well as various super-alloy powders.
