TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) participated in the SAHA EXPO Defense and Aerospace Industry Fair, which was held for the third time this year.
Domestic and foreign origin products were introduced at the fair where 250 foreign and 750 domestic companies from 57 countries came together.
The opening of SAHA EXPO, which was organized with the participation and support of the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Industry and Technology, Ministry of Trade and Presidency of Defense Industry, was attended by Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Deputy Ministers of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Hasan Büyükdede, Governor of Istanbul Ali Yerlikaya, President of Defense Industry İsmail Demir, Chairman of SAHA Istanbul Board of Directors Haluk Bayraktar.
High-Tech Products Displayed
Turkish national technologies and R&D capabilities were introduced at the event that brought together manufacturers, suppliers and companies engaged in production for the defense, aviation, maritime and space industries. B2B meetings were also held.
At the fair, TÜBİTAK MAM displayed its Chemical Warfare Agents Detection System for Drinking Water, Chemical Warfare Agents Detection Device (MAM-CDET), Fuel Cell Charging System, Carbon Dioxide (Co2) Capturing Cartridge, Plastic Bonded Explosives, Metal Foam – Honeycomb – Lattice (Cage) as Open Porous and Light Metal Structures, High Temperature Carbon Composite Materials, Crystal Turbine Blade and Space Qualified Solar Panel products. The products attracted great attention from the visitors.
TÜBİTAK MAM Booth Attracts a Great Interest from Bureaucracy
During the fair hosting a great number of national and international visitors from the business world and attended by high level officials of the state; the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, President of Defense Industry İsmail Demir, Deputy Ministers of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Hasan Büyükdede and senior bureaucrats visited the booth of TÜBİTAK MAM and got information about the products.

TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and TÜBİTAK Vice President and TÜBİTAK MAM President Prof. Dr. Ahmet Yozgatlıgil visited the booths of many companies making production in different fields of defense industry and examined their products on site.
TÜBİTAK MAM Establishes Significant Collaborations
Exhibiting its capabilities in ammunition and systems needed by the defense and aerospace industries, TÜBİTAK MAM established important collaborations in the field of Energetic Materials, Defense and Space Industry.
A cooperation protocol was signed with ASSAN GROUP in order to minimize foreign dependency in the production of Energetic Materials.
Also, a cooperation protocol was signed among TÜBİTAK MAM, Deltav Space Inc. and 3D WOVEN Inc.. The protocol signed will allow the production of critical parts that Turkiye will need in the field of defense and space industry.
