TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) and the General Directorate for Agricultural Research and Policies (TAGEM) held a meeting for collaborative R&D on 31 March 2021.
The meeting was attended by TAGEM General Director Dr. Nevzat BİRİŞİK, TÜBİTAK MAM President Dr. Osman OKUR, TAGEM Deputy Director General Assoc. Prof. İlhan AYDIN, TÜBİTAK President Advisor Assoc. Prof. Şiir KILKIŞ, TÜBİTAK MAM Vice President Assoc. Prof. Burcu ÖZSOY, TAGEM Department Heads and TÜBİTAK MAM Institute Directors and Deputy Directors.
The opening remarks of the meeting was delivered by TAGEM Director General Dr. Nevzat BİRİŞİK who stated that they came together to make the roadmap of the collaboration.
TÜBİTAK MAM President Dr. Osman OKUR, in his speech, underlined that it is aimed to maintain the collaboration initiated by TÜBİTAK President Prof. Hasan MANDAL.
TAGEM Deputy Director General Assoc. Prof. İlhan AYDIN expressed his pleasure from coming together of TAGEM and TÜBİTAK participants to discuss the details of the projects; and he stated that the meeting aimed to evaluate the projects to be conducted with the collaboration of TÜBİTAK MAM and TAGEM Institutes and to determine the steps to be taken.
Assoc. Prof. İlhan AYDIN made an introductory presentation on TAGEM and gave information about the activities, projects and publications of the Research Institute. TAGEM’s 2023 targets and commercialized products were introduced.
Following the presentation of TAGEM, TÜBİTAK MAM President Dr. Osman OKUR delivered a presentation on the capabilities, infrastructure and qualified human resources of TÜBİTAK MAM. He touched upon the fields in which Institutes specifically can collaborate.
After the presentation, TÜBİTAK MAM Institutes delivered presentations including project proposals. The proposals were evaluated by TÜBİTAK and TAGEM officials.
