Upcoming Event

Since 2019, the "National Polar Sciences Symposium", organized annually under the coordination of TÜBİTAK Marmara Research Center (MAM) Polar Research Institute (KARE), has been an important platform for Turkish scientists to share their research and scientific developments in the polar regions. The "Polar Festivals" organized within this framework aim to convey these scientific developments to wider segments of the society and to spread polar awareness.

While scientific interest in the polar regions on a global scale is increasing day by day, the 9th National Polar Sciences Symposium and the 5th Polar Festival, organized in order to disseminate the advanced capability and research capacity of our country in this field and to share its national contributions, are planned to be held on 5-6 November 2025 this year, under the coordination of TÜBİTAK MAM KARE, hosted by Ege University and simultaneously online (hybrid).
