On September 15, 2020, "Procedures and Principles Regarding National Polar Science Expeditions and Activities" was published within the scope of TÜBİTAK legislation and entered into force.
The purpose of these Procedures and Principles is to determine the procedures and principles regarding the conduct of the National Polar Science Expeditions in the Antarctic Treaty Area and the Arctic, carried out by the Republic of Türkiye under the leadership of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye Marmara Research Center Polar Research Institute in the field and all kinds of activities, studies, processes and operations. Its scope includes the powers, duties and responsibilities of the persons who will take part in the operation of the Expedition in order to be carried out safely and securely in line with the planned objectives within the framework of these procedures and principles.
